I’m happy and proud to share that my mixed media mosaic piece, “Reach of the Sacred Heart” won an award for Technical Execution at the Rocky Mountain Regional Mosaic Exhibit, “Cutting Edges”, at the Lakewood Cultural Center in Lakewood, Colorado. Internationally acclaimed juror, Julie Richey judged and made the awards at the opening reception on Friday, September 6th. Other award winners for Technical Execution include; Hresula Bentsen, Delcia Litt, Grace Blowers, Pat Monroe, and Kathy Thaden. Material and Technical Expertise award winners include; Nan Judson, Marlea Taylor, and Susan Judy. Best of Show awards went to Susan Wechsler and Andi Burnum. The exhibit runs September 6th through November 2nd and features the mosaic artwork of 50 different artists from 5 different Rocky Mountain states. Works include 2-D, 3-D, and sculptural mosaics in a variety of materials; glass, tile, smalti, stone, paper, beads, found objects, and more.
